Description

“It is in the unity of the separate where painting happens, where the small and subtle makes sense, manifesting a rhythm and a color that we are, participating in the song of nature.”

Painting like weaving, with the pleasure that comes from following the thread, trusting that you know where it is going.
Each gesture, each brushstroke, the hand and the breath, everything comes together in an attentive presence to manifest a rhythm as part of a larger framework.
The work with color and vibration in these works is an invitation to openness and movement of vision in its playful possibility.

More Information

Liliana González was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1966. She graduated from the Manuel Belgrano National School of Fine Arts and completed a work clinic with Tulio de Sagastizábal. She exhibited her work individually at the Recoleta Cultural Center, Museo Bellas Ares Fernán Félix de Amador, Museo de Luján, among others. In 2018 she was invited by the Sharjah Culture Secretariat (United Arab Emirates) to participate in the Islamic Arts Festival with her Ornamental Celebration exhibition.

“I work with water-based materials on paper. I like that quality of it of being light and receptive because then the brush can glide with the fluidity of watered down color. I am interested in the superposition of the line as a means of finding intensities, transparencies and new colors. The rhythmic brushstroke generates these vibrational patterns in a game of complicity between color and the eye that believes it sees movement in stillness”, Liliana González.
