Cabalgar la cruz

The cross was not given as a burden
nor as a sign of atonement.
It was raised as a threshold.

There, where opposites
cease their struggle and surrender to the mingling.

Light was not announced.
Redemption was not promised.
There was a descent.

A descent into the inner realms
where darkness does not condemn,
but rather gives birth.

In places where light does not reach,
water remains.

And where water remains,
something living stirs.

This is a display devoid of morality.

It does not judge.
It does not redeem.
It does not separate.

It inhabits the thickness:
what grows in silence,
what insists from the depths,
what seeks not to be revealed
but to be traversed.

To ride the cross
is a wild and lucid act.

Not dragging one’s ghosts along,
but naming them.
Not casting out the shadow,
but letting it work.

Here, the shadow does not oppose the light; it holds it.

The passage moves through damp,
fertile zones, where fear loses its shape
and darkness reveals its generative power.

Carrying the cross is weight. It is penance.
It is sacrifice.

Riding it is a different liturgy.

It is mounting what causes pain
without demanding it vanish.

It is accepting decomposition
as a fertile state.

For in everything that dies,
a germ remains.

And in every germ,
a promise that needs no light.

There is no sacrifice.
There is decomposition.

And in decomposition,
there is still life.
