Drawing is a form of reflection. In figurative drawing they bring into play the formal elements of a language, not only based on representing an image, but rather a set of ideas, sensations and feelings. Build an image -in the case of this series, of landscapes – thus becomes an action that articulates intellectual, technical and sensitive exercises. The task everyday life of producing works in the workshop is complex and profound, summons knowledge about the technical trade that is related to a constellation of references, emotions and experiences of the artist. Thus, drawing on the work table is much more than its mere materiality. Then, outside the workshop, the work takes new meanings in relation to another.
This series of drawings is dedicated to a variety of landscapes, as physical spaces, but also as ideas, imaginations. The images aim to account for these spaces, but they indicate their own quality of representation or fiction. The presentation of these images is intended to invite contemplation. Exploring a landscape with your eyes is always a moving meditation. get lost, get lost drag through the immense, the incomprehensible; and inevitably be thinking about yourself. The image of a landscape can have a mirror character. The gaze turns inward, towards a disturbing interior immensity. The only territory capable of being explored is at the same time the most extensive and mysterious. The territory is oneself.
