Eduardo Francisco Costantini — born in Buenos Aires, 1976 — who signs as Edo, is a composer, photographer and filmmaker working out of the hamlets of Bedford Village, Bedford Hills and Katonah, New York.
In 2019, Edo founded The Orpheists — a band for which he writes the music on piano, and then invites other musicians to contribute to the pieces.
SILENCIO, their debut short album, featuring Mauro Refosco (percussion), Gabriel Cabezas (cello), and Jake Owens (recording and producing) was released on June 9th 2022 in all digital platforms and presented at PRAXIS gallery in Chelsea, New York with a live performance, on the occasion of Herbarium. A Botanical Journey, an exhibition by artist Delfina Braun, whose work was featured on the album’s cover.
Edo’s work as a photographer is centered around the sublime in nature, portrayed through his ethereal depictions of the forest. His work has been a part of various solo and group exhibitions. In 2019, his series A flower is not a flower was shown at Olsen Gruin Gallery in New York, as part of the winter exhibition In Sight curated by Alexandra Goldman. In December 2021, his work formed part of Rhythms in Nature, an exhibition curated by Victoria Giraudo, which took place at Miami Yoga Garage. In May 2022, he joined the opening show of JSL Gallery in Miami; he participated with his work in the 2022 edition of SP-Arte and in ArtRio 2023. Edo is represented by Mario Cohen Fine Art Gallery in São Paulo, where his first solo exhibition in Latin America will take place, in October 2023. Edo is the founder of KOLAPSE, a platform for artists, musicians, film-makers and other like-minded people, as part of a global conversation to rethink the world. Before this, in 2007, he became an active partner of MUBI, an online film-streaming platform, production company and film distributor for both emerging and established filmmakers. From 2001 to 2006, he served as the Executive Director of MALBA — Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires. Costantini produced various award winning films, including the 2008 Golden Bear winner The Elite Squad, and Guillermo Arriaga’s The Burning Plain, among others.
