A geometric arrangement vibrates, upon a cold stone gray scene on crumpled paper. Colors emerge: yellows, fuchsias and almost fluorescent blues – hues that emerge from the sky in that magical hour when the day and night dance with each other and make their transition.
A nomadic and tireless seeker of an image that mutates at the moment of its creation, each of the artist’s paintings traverses this vital dynamic in its unceasing metamorphosis.
Creation in its primitive state, its trace and footprints: Platz chose not to use a brush in the paintings of this series but the extension of his body, presenting the human hand as an essential tool. These means are seen more intensely in his ceramics, where he returns to the introspective palate of this earliest work: grays, golds, blacks and blues. The three-dimensional and clear trace of his performative footprints are evident.
It is here, in this series, that the insatiable seeker of symbols comes to discover the resilience of man, the poetics of perception and space, and painting as a terrain for action. Platz was transformed into that which he was seeking: a being in a perpetual and cyclical transformation who astonishes us with his archetypical dance.
