Beatriz Morales

Born and raised in Mexico City, Beatriz Morales left her native country in 2001 to pursue self-taught studies in painting, ceramics and fashion design. Morales combines an abstract-expressionist research approach, sometimes combined with figurative and illustrative components, creating a concrete conceptual work.

His painting Wonderland II was presented at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Rufino Tamayo (Mexico City and Oaxaca) as part of the 2017 Mexican Painting Biennial. Morales made her debut in major art fairs shown at Zona Monaco in 2018. Her work was shown at Dallas Art Fair 2019 and in numerous galleries in Europe and North America. Beatriz Morales’ recent exhibitions also include a major solo show at Circle Culture Berlin and two important museum exhibitions at the Museo de la Cancillería in Mexico City and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo MACAY in Mérida, which dedicated its main exhibition hall to a large-scale installation by the artist. She will soon participate in the group exhibition “The King is Dead, Long Live the Queen” at the Frieder Burda Museum in Baden Baden, Germany.

Morales published her first major monograph “Archaeology of Color” from Kerber Publishing in December 2021, available now in bookstores worldwide.
