PRESS | Revista Acromática | South American textile art makes its triumphant entrance in New York with an Argentine gallery

Skin Buffet por Josefina Concha E.

Praxis is a gallery that brings together, exhibits, and attracts Latin artists at the epicenter of culture and art. From Argentina to the United States, Praxis arrived in New York in 1987 with the aim of giving global visibility to Latin art.

The upcoming exhibition features the work of Chilean textile artist Josefina Concha E. (Santiago de Chile, 1982).

As a master in textile art, Josefina rescues centuries of Latin American heritage through a communion with craftsmanship and nature. Her work is distinguished by its ability to merge elements of Chilean culture with both traditional and contemporary weaving techniques.

On this occasion, Josefina will present Skin Buffet, situated around a dining table. The work is a gathering, a textile meeting, with special guests: sewn fabrics, small drawings, and paintings that each draw inspiration from strange objects, family members of the artist, or the work of other artists.
